The main target of cover letter writing is to motivate the reader to do action in relation to the proposal or the topic being introduced. Cover letter reveals something that of interest to the reader. This cover letter will then be the basis for the reader and the writer to have a deeper business relationship with each other.

In cover letter writing, the introduction should go directly on the main purpose. That if you are making a cover sales letter, state in the introduction the benefits a person will get in availing your products and services. The same should be done if you are sending a sales cover letter to a business institution.

Let us take for example the structure of news writing, the inverted pyramid structure. In this structure, the most important thing about an event is being revealed in the first paragraph. The remaining details stated of the following paragraphs are all supporting facts about an event. On the other hand, the pyramid structure is not acceptable to be followed in cover letter writing because this is the structure of short story writing.

Cover letter writing should not be compared to both structure due to fact that in cover letter, the intensity created on the first paragraph should maintained through out the letter. This is to make sure that the reader will go forward and agree on the topic being discussed.

If you noticed, most of the sales letters have this promotional skills that a consumer is being hypnotized and by the product. Not that the buyer is really hypnotized, but because of the presentation that stimulates the reader?s thought to avail the services or products being endorsed.

Today in the internet community, the text blogging is replaced by video blogging. Those who are using video blog based their views in this maxim ? ?a picture paints a thousand words.? Thus, video blog where the presentations are moving could easily arouse and impress the viewer to agree immediately on a certain proposal.

Furthermore, before writing a cover letter, you should have comprehensive knowledge about the products or services to be offered. You can also explore the virtual community for aids in writing a successful cover letter.
