Description: Greenwood's Naked City Brewery & Taphouse is named for the slow-moving 1948 film noir that opens with a beautiful woman being chloroformed and drowned in a tub. The interior is stripped and modern, with granite countertops and stark plaster walls, and there are no surprises in the viewing room, just black-and-white head shots of movie greats and a framed Casablanca poster. Early on a Friday night, the space is brightly lit and crowded with youngish-woodsy-educated-athletic-professional types using good manners and having civilized conversations.
What else: To celebrate Seattle Beer Week, DJs Nicfit and Jon Francois are performing live soundtracks to classic movies with plots involving cheaters, stranglers, mutants, blood-eaters, hicks, crossdressers, sociopaths, haunted castles, dusty wigs, capsized boats, and drains swirling with chocolate syrup. (Sunday at 8 p.m.: Psycho; Monday at 9 p.m.: Nosferatu; Wednesday at 9 p.m.: Sunrise.)
