ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) ? A state analyst says Maryland casinos would get an estimated 5 percent bump in slot machine revenue by allowing casinos to stay open around the clock.
Rachel Hise, of the Maryland Department of Legislative Services, outlined a gambling expansion bill to a panel of lawmakers on Saturday.
Casinos are now allowed to be open from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 4 a.m. on weekends. Three of five potential casinos have opened.
About a dozen members of a House Ways and Means subcommittee and House Speaker Michael Busch met a day after the state Senate voted 28-14 to pass a bill allowing table games like blackjack and a new casino site in Prince George?s County.
Lawmakers convened for a special session on Thursday.
